The USWE Outlander 3L is a hydration backpack with a minimalist profile designed for intense training sessions and races. Built to be completely unnoticeable, it offers 3 litres of storage volume and comes with a 2.0-litre Hydrapak water bladder. It is the ideal piece of kit when every gram counts and you need absolute freedom of movement in the upper body.

Like all the brand's performance packs, it integrates the patented NDM™ 1.0 (No Dancing Monkey) harness technology. This unique 4-point attachment system clips onto the chest in a single gesture and keeps the pack perfectly flush against your back. It eliminates 100% of bounce and movement, even on the most technical root sections or during jumps, while stretching flexibly to never restrict your breathing.

What else can be stored in the bag besides the water bladder? The Outlander 3L focuses on the essentials. When the 2L water bladder is full, the external organisation pocket can accommodate a large smartphone, your keys, a multi-tool, a compact hand pump and a few energy gels. If you remove this pocket for racing, you will only be able to fit the reservoir and possibly your keys or phone in the main compartment.

Does the central buckle harness get in the way for women's chest? The NDM 1.0 system is unisex and adjusts very well to the majority of body shapes. The four crossed straps rest on the ribcage rather than directly on the chest. For optimal comfort, simply adjust the Velcro bands at the end of the shoulder straps to position the central buckle higher or lower according to your preference.

Can the water bladder be washed in the dishwasher? Yes! The Hydrapak Elite water bladder is fully reversible. You can empty it, turn it completely inside out like a sock and place it in the top rack of your dishwasher (gentle programme at under 60°C). This is the best way to clean and dry it thoroughly to prevent unpleasant odours.
