The bike rack THULE VELOLITE 1 Single Bike Towball Carrier is a compact and lightweight solution designed to transport one bike with ease every day. Its fixed platform design offers an excellent compromise between robustness, practicality and reduced bulk. Once folded, it stores easily in a boot or garage, making it an ideal companion for regular commutes as well as sporting outings.
Thanks to its independent mounting arms fitted with straps and their pivoting heads, this bike rack adapts to a wide variety of frames from 20 to 90 mm. It is compatible with city bikes, mountain bikes and gravel bikes, while ensuring stable and secure holding during transport. It also accepts carbon frames.
The tow ball mounting system benefits from a proven design with an ergonomic handle and an integrated lock, guaranteeing quick installation and excellent stability on the tow ball. The adjustable wheel supports facilitate bike positioning while the strap organisers keep everything neat and tidy.
Designed for practical use, the THULE VELOLITE allows access to the vehicle boot when the bike rack is fitted without a bike. It also integrates rear lights, a number plate holder and a 13-pin socket, ensuring full road compliance.
Is it suitable for transporting an electric mountain bike (e-MTB)? This model is designed for lightness and compactness. While it can easily accommodate standard mountain bikes or road bikes, it is important to check its maximum load capacity before fitting a heavy electric bike. If your e-MTB exceeds the weight recommended by Thule for this model, it would be better to look at the Thule EasyFold or Epos range, specifically reinforced for heavy loads.
Does it obstruct boot access once fitted? Thanks to its compact design dedicated to a single bike, the VeloLite 1 takes up very little depth. On the vast majority of saloons, hatchbacks and estates, the remaining space allows the boot tailgate to be opened without any difficulty, even when the bike is in place.
How does storage work when it's not in use? This is one of its biggest strengths. Unlike models for 3 or 4 bikes which are heavy and bulky, the VeloLite 1 can be dismounted in the blink of an eye. You can slide it directly into your car boot while you drive, or hang it on a hook in your garage. It knows how to be completely forgotten.
