The SILCA Super Secret Chain Lube lubricant was born from a project aimed at creating the fastest molten wax-based lubricant for bicycle chains. Josh, drawing on his experience with professional cyclists and triathletes, wanted to make this formula accessible to amateur riders. The challenge was to ensure regular melting and chain immersion, despite differences in temperatures and cooker models.

An unexpected turning point came when Josh discovered a technology from the IndyCar world: the integration of microscopic wax powders into a fast-drying solution. This technology makes it possible to form a coating identical to that of a molten wax, without the application constraints.

By combining fast-drying liquid wax and tungsten disulphide, the Super Secret Chain Lube has proven to outperform all existing molten waxes in terms of friction reduction, while being simpler and quicker to apply.
