Specially designed for triathlon use, the Selle Italia Watt Gel Superflow saddle is innovative and developed in collaboration with double IRONMAN® world champion Patrick Lange and the professionals of the BMC-Vifit Triathlon team.

The result of years of study by Selle Italia's Research and Development department, the Watt meets the demands of the most exacting triathletes and guarantees an increase in power during the pedal stroke, better comfort and a seating position capable of maximising performance.

The name is inspired by the unit of measurement for power, a fundamental element for all athletes, but the new Selle Italia Watt saddle goes beyond that. It is a saddle that allows triathletes to achieve a more efficient pedal stroke thanks also to a high-performing and extremely comfortable seating position — three fundamental parameters for triathletes.

A saddle characterised by its revised shape, with TI316 rail and a layer of gel inside the padding, in the front section, for better in-saddle comfort. The central «Superflow» cut-out reduces pressure in the central zone and provides greater comfort while pedalling during your ride. The Watt saddle structure features a rail 10 millimetres longer than traditional saddles, to allow more precise adjustment of the time-trial position.

On the advice of the professional athletes who collaborated in the development of the Watt saddle, to guarantee seating stability and allow better pedalling efficiency, the nose of the Watt has been widened to 50 millimetres and the saddle protection features an insert in High Grip material with an anti-slip function.

The ideal sitting point, where the saddle measures 133 mm in width, has been moved further back to facilitate the curvature of the saddle and increase comfort during the push phase. A rubber insert has also been applied (Rack Rubber Insert) on the underside of the nose, which coincides with the point where the bike rests on the racks in the transition zone. It makes the contact secure and protects the saddle from impact. Finally, it weighs only 235 grams.
