The Muc-Off Chain Wax Cleaner is a next-generation cleaner designed by the transmission experts at Muc-Off. Its role is crucial: it eliminates stubborn factory oils, heavy greases and old wax residues that conventional degreasers sometimes struggle to dissolve.

For a wax (hot or liquid) to adhere perfectly to metal, the surface must be clinically clean. This cleaner leaves a "zero residue" surface, ensuring that your new coat of Dark Energy wax penetrates deep into the links for maximum smoothness and longevity.

Why not use the classic "yellow" Muc-Off degreaser? Although the classic degreaser is excellent, the Chain Wax Cleaner is specifically formulated to leave absolutely no residue. The slightest trace of oil would prevent the wax from bonding properly to the metal, halving its effectiveness.

Should you rinse after use? Yes, absolutely. After spraying and scrubbing with a brush, rinse thoroughly with clean water to remove all traces of product and dirt, then dry the chain carefully before applying the wax.

Is it necessary for a new chain? It is even compulsory! New chains leave the factory with a sticky storage grease. To switch to the wax system, you must remove this layer with the Chain Wax Cleaner.
