Description

Tested and approved by the brand's top riders, the MICHELIN Wild AM2 Competition Line tyre features an optimal balance between grip, rolling efficiency, longevity, weight and damage resistance for use in All Mountain MTB.

This model was designed for mixed terrain as well as soft terrain, where its more aggressive tread ensures a high level of grip, but with less emphasis on rolling efficiency. The centre knobs are inspired by those of the DH34 and offer maximum soil penetration during braking for good stability and transfer of braking forces in soft conditions. The shoulder knobs are once again inspired by the DH22 but differ from those of the FORCE AM2 in order to provide a higher level of cornering grip on mixed and soft surfaces. This shoulder knob design maintains excellent progressiveness when leaning into corners and a predictable breakaway character.

The dual compound Gum-X Technology features a harder central zone for optimal rolling efficiency and longevity, combined with softer rubber on the shoulder knobs for cornering grip. The Gravity Shield technology reinforcements use high-density fibre from bead to bead for enhanced resistance to impacts, sidewall cuts and punctures, paired with a 3x60 TPI carcass ply for rigidity and stability, while maintaining good levels of comfort.

👍

"I was able to ride 150 km, several 3 h outings with this tire that I installed on the front and rear. Super grip on loose ground, muddy, safe in turns and uphill! A little heavy, weighing in at 1050 grams per tire. Very durable tires. Perfect for winter, spring and muddy periods."

Benoît L. (5/5)

Easily fitted with tubeless

"Easily mounted in tubeless, and seems OK for use on the trails and singles of the Eastern Pyrenees (hard terrain, quite a few rocks and aggressive vegetation)."

Dominique B. (4/5)

Hard to slam then

"Difficult to slam then 1st outing with this tire and 1st puncture. Maybe bad luck..."

mattias E. (3/5)

"Great tire, great grip, strong just a little heavy ."

Patrick (5/5)

Quality at the right price

"To date, I'm not disappointed with my choice! On the other hand, I didn't manage to fit it with bi-foam protection. Otherwise OK"

Milau83 (4/5)

Thinner and lower than expected

"Thinner and lower than expected when compared to previous Decathlon 2. 40 GRIP tyres. But have decent grip."
