The Rim DT Swiss XMC 320 in 27.5 inches concentrates all the expertise of the Swiss brand in a compact format dedicated to All-Mountain and committed Trail riding. Designed for custom wheel builders and competitors, this bare carbon rim is the ideal centrepiece for building an ultra-responsive wheelset, quick through direction changes and particularly robust.
Thanks to the 27.5" format and the use of high-modulus carbon, it achieves an even lower weight than its 29-inch sibling, while naturally increasing its torsional stiffness. Its 30 mm internal width offers the perfect profile to accommodate large Trail and light Enduro tyres, allowing you to run low pressures for exceptional grip and traction on technical descents and bermed corners.
Why choose the XMC 320 in 27.5" over the 29" version? The choice of 27.5" addresses two specific needs: the pursuit of absolute manoeuvrability (for smaller riders or those who prefer a very playful bike that turns on a sixpence) and the configuration of hybrid builds known as "Mullet". Fitting this rim at the rear with a 29" at the front offers the perfect compromise: rollover ability at the front, and an ultra-reactive rear wheel that frees up space above the saddle on steep descents.
What tyre type and pressure should be used with this 30 mm profile? As with the 29" version, the Hookless design requires the use of Tubeless Ready or Tubeless tyres only. Thanks to the 30 mm width, you can fit generous sections of 2.40 or 2.50. This allows you to lower the pressure (often below 1.5 bar depending on your weight) to achieve phenomenal traction at the rear wheel, essential during technical climbs and emergency braking.
Is it compatible with the demands of an E-MTB (E-Bike)? Absolutely. Certified for ASTM category 4 and supporting up to 120 kg total load, its compact 27.5" carbon structure offers exceptional lateral stiffness, ideal for absorbing the high torque and powerful acceleration of electric motors without any wheel deformation.
