MUC-OFF DARK MATTER CHAIN WAX Chain Lubricant (120 ml)

The Lubricant Dark Energy is Muc-Off's answer to the most demanding cyclists who swear by wax. Unlike liquid lubricants, this wax is applied by hot immersion. By submerging your chain in the molten wax, it penetrates deep inside every roller and rivet, creating a solid and incredibly slippery barrier.

Developed with extreme pressure additives, it reduces friction to near-zero levels, allowing you to save precious watts. Once cooled, the chain is completely dry, which prevents dust and dirt from sticking. Your drivetrain stays as clean as the first day, ride after ride.

Is it difficult to apply? It takes a little more time than a drop of oil: you need to melt the wax (in a bain-marie or a dedicated slow cooker) and submerge a perfectly degreased chain in it. But the result lasts 10 times longer than a conventional lubricant.

Do I need to clean my chain after every ride? No! A simple wipe with a dry cloth is enough. Dirt does not stick to the wax. If the bike is very dirty, rinse it with water, dry it, and you're good to go.

Can I use Dark Energy on a new chain? Yes, but you must first remove the factory grease. For a perfect result, use the specific Muc-Off degreaser before the first bath.

Does it work in the rain? Yes, the wax is hydrophobic. However, as with any wax, its lifespan will be reduced compared to dry conditions.
