Clif Bar – Born from a passion for effort and an interest in sports nutrition

The adventure Clif Bar was born from the personal experience of its founder, Gary Erickson, Canadian by birth. Its story begins in 1990, during a cycling trip with his friend Jay, in which the two companions were to cover 300 kilometres in a single day! Fuelling himself on energy bars until he could take no more, Gary found himself thinking he could "make a much better one". This moment is commonly referred to as Clif Bar's "epiphany" by its founding family. It marked the starting point of many kitchen experiments to find recipes and flavour combinations that would restore and satisfy any athlete during physical effort!
 

Clif Bar – No artificial flavours or preservatives!

Clif Bar was born out of a dual passion for sports nutrition and physical effort. Clif Bar food is also made from a maximum of organic ingredients, and its story — still a family affair 25 years after its founding — reflects the respectful relationship its founders maintain with the land. The Clif Bar Family Foundation was even created in 2006 by the parent company (Clif Bar & Company) to support groups and associations that share the same vision of society, based on healthy farming and food. Organic products ("organic food") are indeed at the heart of the energy bars and gels signed Clif Bar, from which artificial preservatives and flavourings are excluded… Wholesome fruits, nuts and cereals chosen by Clif Bar are thus perfectly suited to the diet of athletes!
