Description
The bottom bracket Pride Racing BB86 Inox is a high-end component specifically developed for the latest generation BMX Race frames using the Press Fit 86 bottom bracket standard. This model allows a 24 mm spindle crankset to be cleanly and securely installed at the heart of your frame.
Its strength lies in the integration of high-precision stainless steel (Inox) bearings. This technical choice provides a natural and formidable barrier against oxidation and rust, often caused by riding in rain, trail mud or repeated washing. Housed in lightweight aluminium cups, this bottom bracket delivers excellent axial stiffness and smooth long-term rotation.
What is the difference between a Euro bottom bracket and this BB86 bottom bracket? The Euro bottom bracket has threads and screws into the frame. The BB86 is a Press Fit system: the cups have no threads and must be pressed into the frame using a specific tool. Always check your frame's specifications before purchasing.
How to correctly install a Press Fit BB86 bottom bracket? The use of a bottom bracket press is strongly recommended to insert the cups squarely into the frame. It is advisable to thoroughly clean the inside of the frame's bottom bracket shell and apply a thin layer of suitable grease (or an anti-creak compound) to facilitate installation and prevent future creaking.
