The chainring Pride Racing Newton CI is a premium component for optimising the drivetrain of your BMX Race. Entirely CNC-machined from aerospace-grade 7075-T6 aluminium, it offers exceptional stiffness while remaining remarkably lightweight.
This CI (Chain Inertia) version benefits from an optimised design that reduces friction and ensures excellent chain alignment. With its 36-tooth (36T) ring, it is primarily aimed at young riders (Minime / Cadet categories depending on development configurations) or specific drivetrain configurations seeking a precise ratio to maximise acceleration on the track.
Who is a 36-tooth chainring (36T) suited to? In BMX Race, chainring size depends on the rider's age, strength and rear sprocket size. A 36T chainring is ideal for smaller gear ratios (often paired with 20x1-3/8" or 20x1.50" wheels) for transitioning riders who need to push a larger gear without bogging down at the start.
Is it compatible with my crankset? It fits all cranksets equipped with a 4-arm spider with a 104 mm bolt circle diameter (BCD 104), which is the most widespread standard in Race (Pride, Shimano DXR, Box, Forward, etc.).
Why is concentricity so important on this chainring? The precision machining of the Newton range prevents the chain from going slack or becoming excessively tight with each crank revolution. Consistent tension reduces the risk of chain drop and improves overall efficiency.
