The SRAM X5 10V long cage rear derailleur Black is a versatile and reliable model, equally suited to Touring and Cross-Country as well as Cycle Touring and urban commuting.
Equipped with 1:1 technology, it ensures consistent and precise movement, making it a derailleur that is easy to install, adjust and maintain. The X5 rear derailleur for 10-speed systems also benefits from the Direct Route system, which removes any intermediary between the cable and the activation mechanism, for greater flexibility, reduced effort and increased durability.
The long cage allows full use of a maximum sprocket size of 36 teeth.

"After having an X9 derailleur, then an X7, and finally an X5 (the others broke), there was no difference in shifting or adjustment. The difference lies in the quality of the X5 pulleys—just bushings, no bearings—and the weight, a few grams (given the mud that sometimes builds up???)"
