Description
The RRP RearGuard Off-Road is a removable mudguard designed to attach directly under your saddle rails. Unlike narrower road models, the Off-Road version is wider and more robust, specifically engineered to stop mud and water spray generated by mountain bike, gravel or cyclo-cross tyres.
It is the essential accessory for wet rides when you want to stay dry without spoiling the look of your bike. Installation is instant and requires no tools: it slides between the rails and locks in place thanks to its ingenious design. Once the ride is over and the sun is back, it can be removed in the blink of an eye and stored flat in a bag.
Is it compatible with a saddle bag? Generally not. As it occupies the space between the saddle rails, it is difficult to fit a saddle bag on top. It is ideal for those who ride with a backpack, a hip pack or tools mounted on the frame.
What is the difference with the "Road" version? The Off-Road version is significantly wider. A mountain bike or gravel tyre throws up far more water and mud than a narrow road tyre; this model is therefore sized to provide genuine coverage in off-road conditions.
