The external Centerlock nut Wolf Tooth MKØ Centerlock is designed for demanding cyclists seeking a premium alternative to standard models. From the new MKØ range, this nut benefits from extremely rigorous CNC machining at the Wolf Tooth workshop in Minneapolis.
Unlike internal spline versions which can be limited by the diameter of certain wheel axles, this external spline model offers universal compatibility, including for hubs fitted with 12 mm, 15 mm and even 20 mm thru-axles. It ensures powerful and even clamping of your Centerlock disc for silent and secure braking.
Why choose an external spline nut? Some large-axle hubs (particularly on MTB or modern road forks) do not leave enough room to insert the tightening tool inside the nut. The external spline nut is tightened from the outside, eliminating any clearance issues.
Is it compatible with all disc brands? Yes, it is compatible with all Centerlock standard discs (Shimano, SRAM, Hope, Magura, etc.).
What tool should I use to install it? It is installed with the same tool used for external bottom brackets (Shimano BB52 or similar). It is a very common tool that provides excellent grip for applying 40 Nm of torque without slipping.
