The Assos Chamois Crème is an absolute and essential reference in the world of cycling (Road, MTB, Gravel and Indoor trainer). Designed to optimise comfort on the bike, it drastically reduces friction between the skin and the shorts insert, thus eliminating the risk of chafing, irritation and pain associated with long hours spent in the saddle.
This large 200 ml pot format is the standard version par excellence, ideal to keep at home in your bathroom or to incorporate into your preparation routine before each ride. Its dermatologically tested formula deeply rehydrates the skin, delivers a soothing cooling effect from the first application, and creates an effective antibacterial barrier to prevent inflammation caused by perspiration.
How often should the 200 ml format be used? This 200 ml format is designed for regular, even daily use. If you ride several times a week, are preparing for a long-distance goal, or spend a lot of time in winter on your indoor trainer (where perspiration is even more acidic and stagnant), applying this cream before every training session is the best way to protect your skin. A 200 ml pot generally covers several months of intensive use.
Do you need to apply a thick layer for it to be effective? No, a thin layer is more than enough. Thanks to its fluid and rich texture, a small amount of cream spread evenly over the friction zones (groin, sit bones) is perfectly sufficient. For very long rides or in wet conditions, you can apply an additional small amount directly onto the seams and chamois surface of your shorts.
Does the cream leave greasy residue on the saddle or clothing? Unlike older chamois greases based on animal fat or petroleum, Assos's modern formulation is water-soluble (water-based). It partially penetrates the skin and fabric to form a thin protective film, without leaving a greasy or sticky residue. If a little cream gets onto your clothing or saddle, it wipes off with a simple cloth and disappears completely when washed at 30°C without leaving any stains.
