What to check

• The brake bosses on the frame and fork, identical to those of a V-brake.
• The available space around the rim, as the brake body is bulkier.
• Compatibility with the rim width and the condition of the braking surface.
• The fluid used and the corresponding bleed kit.

Maintenance

The closed system requires occasional bleeding and pad replacement, as with a conventional V-brake. Monitor rim track wear: a concave sidewall means the rim must be replaced, regardless of the brake's condition.
