Izgatavota no trim slāņiem, Grand Prix 5000 ir radīta, lai apvienotu efektivitāti, saķeri un izturību, neaizmirstot par komfortu. Izcilai vadāmībai riepa ir izstrādāta ar Lazer Grip tehnoloģiju. Šī nelielo struktūru kopa riepas sānos nodrošina maksimālu saķeri pat veicot pagriezienus lielā leņķī uz slapja ceļa. Optimālai efektivitātei Continental ir pilnveidojis savu Black Chili tehnoloģiju.

"J’ai acheté 2 pneus tubless continental grand prix 5000 sur les Conseils de collègues de vélo, ils me paraissent très bien , j ai un bon ressenti sur mon vélo, j’ai un vélo Giant défy , il était équipé d’origine avec des Michelin Power Cup qui m’ont énormément déçu, malgré que je sois fan de Michelin, usure prématuré, le pneu arrière n’a même pas duré 1000 km alors qu’avec le continental pour des qualités routières excellentes, on peut espérer au moins 5000 km"
