Plášť CONTINENTAL GRAND PRIX 5000 700c TubeType skladací je nástupcom veľmi uznávaného Grand Prix 4000S II. Nemecká značka navrhla produkt použiteľný na tréning aj preteky, na suchej aj mokrej ceste.

Grand Prix 5000, zložený z troch vrstiev, je určený na spojenie valivého výkonu, priľnavosti a odolnosti bez zanedbania komfortu. Pre výnimočné držanie stopy je plášť navrhnutý s technológiou Lazer Grip. Tento súbor malých štruktúr na boku plášťa umožňuje maximálnu priľnavosť aj pri náklone na mokrej ceste. Pre optimálny valivý výkon Continental prepracoval technológiu Black Chili. 

Pokiaľ ide o komfort a odolnosť, GP 5000 využíva Active Comfort, ktorý pohlcuje vibrácie, a Vectran Breaker, navrhnutý zo syntetických vlákien, vďaka ktorému je plášť veľmi odolný proti defektom pri kontrolovanej hmotnosti.

"J'utilise ce pneu depuis plusieurs années. Plus de 10000km/an. J'en avais assez de crever 1 à 2 fois chaque année et on m'a conseillé ce pneu. Depuis je vois mes collègues percer leurs pneus plusieurs fois par an. Moi je change les pneus seulement à cause de l'usure, la dernière crevaison remonte à plusieurs années."
